I can’t believe that we’ve hit the 3-month mark of these outfit diary posts! When I decided to do my very first one, I imagined that it would be a good substitute for the daily outfits that I used to post on IG, but it’s honestly been even better.
I’ve loved having a full week of outfits all in one scrollable place, where I can write about the individual items and overall combination to my heart’s content. I love that I don’t feel any pressure to have something new to show, or to “dress up” - that I can genuinely be myself and post the outfits that work for my everyday life.
But mostly, I’ve loved the connection that I’ve made with you over these outfit diaries. I love sharing my styling ideas and any tip/tricks that I have and I love when you comment, or DM me, which outfits were your favorite(s) that week and how you plan to apply something to your own wardrobe, which is the absolute best!
So thank you for making this an even more joyful experience than I could have ever imagined 🫶🏻
I’ve mentioned how I want to do a quarterly review in the past and I’ve been thinking about the best time to do this. It’s been nearly 3 months of outfit diaries, so a quarter of a year, but we’re only 2 months into 2025 and we haven’t hit the actual annual quarter yet. I think that it would work best if I wait for the end of March to do my quarterly review, so the first one will have 4 months worth of outfits and data!
Outfit Rating System:
Comfort - Was I too hot or cold? Did it fit me properly? Did I have to adjust any of the items constantly?
Style - Did I feel stylish in the outfit? Did it feel like a “me” outfit, or was there something about it that was off?
Fun - Did I try something new? Was I really excited about the outfit, or was I bored by the outfit?
Sunday
As I looked through my knitwear drawer, I realized that I hadn’t worn my black cashmere sweater in a while - my outfit diaries reveal that I haven’t worn it since week 2 and I was really surprised that it’s been that long!
I was also in the mood to wear my brown boots. I love a black/brown combo so I decided to keep the bottoms black too. It’s actually a maxi dress and I love combining it with this sweater because the I think the cropped length makes it look more like a skirt.
I keep reaching for this khaki wool jacket, and I can’t imagine why I ever considered getting rid of it, which I know now that I would have regretted.
I’ve been wearing much more silver jewelry for a while but have been trying to reincorporate some of my gold pieces lately. These necklaces are 2 of my favorites - one was a gift from my husband when I was 17 after the death of my childhood kitty - his name is engraved on the back (the cat’s, not the husband’s 😆) and I picked the other one up at an antique shop a few years ago when I was going through a gold jewelry phase.
I don’t wear a handbag all that often, but this jacket doesn’t have the best pockets and I didn’t feel like carrying my phone and keys this day so I went with this belt bag, which I rarely wear as a belt bag, instead opting to wear it as a shoulder bag.
This is the kind of outfit that I’ve worn in the past and will wear again in the future - it’s a reliable outfit formula that works for my lifestyle and makes me feel good while wearing it.
Comfort - 10/10; Style - 10/10; Fun - 8/10.
Monday

I had an orthodontist appointment this day and I’ve officially hit the 3/4 mark of my treatment! And it almost looks like I’m wearing the same outfit as yesterday, but with a different sweater - I swear I’m not 😅.
The base of my outfit is a black wool mockneck sweater and my black wool skirt, I chose my “new” grey sweater and decided on my brown boots again because the sweater has brown flecks in the wool. I added my long necklace that I made back in 2012 that has a lot of black and brown in it and I like how it complements the other long items in the outfit.
I’ve been off statement necklaces for a while but I feel a renewed interest in them rising.
I wore my long tan coat and in an effort to wear my handbags more, I added my Coach “lunchbox” bag, which I think makes this outfit look better. I think I’m going off this coat right now and I’m trying to find ways to avoid that.
I made a cappuccino and tried to do some art but I can’t seem to get it to work out - at least it was delicious ☺️

Tuesday

I love this color of green so much! So much so that I doubled up on it with this wool blend sweater and suede jacket. It also makes me excited for spring so that I can wear this jacket even more, maybe without so many layers underneath! Which is also how I feel about these pants - I’m looking forward to wearing them without leggings.
I really love how leopard print looks with this green shade. Someone once said that nature doesn’t make mistakes when it comes to color combinations and I think about that now when I see certain colors together, like green and brown (if this was you who left this comment, please take credit in the comments!).
I really like the proportions of this outfit and I was surprised that I hadn’t worn these items together yet!
