The outfit diary series is a weekly series where I share every outfit that I’ve worn that week. My wardrobe is mostly secondhand, with some memade and new items as well. I have a small-ish wardrobe and I repeat items a lot! While I include the brands of the items that I’m wearing, I don’t include any links as it is never my intention to encourage shopping, just experimentation with your own wardrobe 🫶🏻
The first 3 outfits are available to everyone, while all 7 outfits + quarterly analyses newsletters are exclusive to paying members of the community.
If you are finding value in my newsletters and would like to support my work, you can become a paid member of the community for $5 per month (an annual subscription for $50 gets you 2 months free).
Sunday
We had a baby shower to go to in the morning and I had a really hard time getting dressed for it. I had planned on wearing my “new” navy dress but it was a little chilly so I decided to go with some wool.
I started with a black tank top and black maxi skirt. I wanted to make sure that I wore some color (seems appropriate for a baby shower), so I added my blue popcorn cardigan. I really wanted to close this in the front, and I’ve done so in the past with an earring, but I couldn’t get it to work out this day, so I left it open. It annoyed me and also reminded me to never buy another cardigan without closures!
I added my black moto boots, small vintage Coach handbag and a pair of fun statement earrings.
The outfit was great for 10am but by the time I left the shower at 1pm, it had warmed up significantly and I was wishing that I had gone with a lighter dress.
Comfort - 10/10; Style - 10/10; Fun - 8/10 - I felt a bit bored by this outfit but I think that’s because it felt like a “winter” outfit and I ended up wishing I’d worn something else.
Outfit Rating System:
Comfort - Was I too hot or cold? Did it fit me properly? Did I have to adjust any of the items constantly? Style - Did I feel stylish in the outfit? Did it feel like a “me” outfit, or was there something about it that was off? Fun - Did I try something new? Was I really excited about the outfit, or was I bored by the outfit?
* denotes a secondhand item.
Monday
When I was doing my spring wardrobe switchover, I was wearing these pants which I acquired at the end of 2024. As I took this sweater out of the storage bin, I questioned if it was something that I should keep since I hardly wore it last year. Then I noticed how well the sweater coordinated with the pants and I tried the 2 together, creating quite a nice monochrome moment I think, leading me to keep the sweater and declaring that I would wear the outfit in the real world very soon.
And this was that day! I added my suede sneakers and off-white bag, two items that I’ve really been enjoying together lately. I like how the outfit feels calming - the combination of the grey-green pants and sweater with the lighter elements feels perfect for spring.
The main plan for this day was to film and edit a decluttering video, and I wasn’t sure which area of my home I was going to declutter first, so I went with an outfit that was really comfortable and easy to move in but also something that I felt really good in. This was a good project outfit!
I’ve probably stated this earlier, but I’ve been feeling a pull to get rid of the excess in our home, not unlike the feeling that I had in 2015 when I first learned of minimalism. So I’ve decided to go slowly and to break it down into smaller decluttering projects instead of one huge one so that it doesn’t feel as overwhelming. This week I tackled my handbags, and next week, I’ll be decluttering shoes (I’m a little nervous about this one)!

Tuesday
I had a busy day of appointments earlier in the day, followed by an awards event for one of my kids in the evening so I wanted an outfit that I felt confident in that would work for everything that was going on. It was a little chilly at the start of the day but it warmed up to the point where a wool blazer was sufficient for warmth, and since I was in my car for much of the outside part, this outfit ended up being perfect!
I wore this exact outfit a few days before this on Saturday. It’s my current “feel great outfit” when I don’t really want to think about what I’m wearing and it’s perfect for the transitional weather. I started with a black tank top and black jeans. Then I added a vintage black belt and my black moto boots, another 2 items that I consistently pair together. Finally, I added my oversized charcoal wool blazer which is roomy and doesn’t make me overheat even when it warms up.
And I didn’t take a handbag so I wanted to show you how I carried my things - I have a keychain that I can either attach to my jeans or put over a finger to hold. It was a Christmas gift from my family years ago and it’s one of my favorite things! And I have a magnetic wallet that I keep my license and a few cards in, which I can just put in a pocket. If I’m wearing jeans, I usually take a lipgloss and put that in a pocket.
None of these things are groundbreaking but sometimes it’s nice to not have to worry about a handbag!
I wore my glasses this day because I had an eye appointment. I really like them and think that I should wear them more but I also know that I won’t 😆
Comfort - 10/10; Style - 10/10; Fun -10/10 - I didn’t try anything new here but I love this nonetheless!
