For Mother’s Day, I asked to go to a locally owned plant center to pick up some plants to go near the front porch where we had tried to (unsuccessfully) grow some grass. Luckily, someone at the plant center was able to help us make a plan for the area that we wanted to plant in and we ended up getting 10 plants and some white rock.
We then spent a few hours putting all the plants where we wanted them and I’m so excited to see how the area fills in over time because it’s a little sparse looking still.

Once the plants were in, it was early afternoon and we had plans to go to the local art museum, followed by drinks and appetizers on a patio downtown since it was so nice outside.
I’d wanted to put on something cute, but I was so warm after all of the planting in the sun that I just wanted something that I knew I’d be comfortable in, so I went with some tried and true pieces, which I may have already worn together in the past…
Later that evening, my husband cooked me dinner (I requested crab cakes and a strawberry spinach salad) followed by my favorite icecream - Jeni’s “Boston Cream Pie”. We ended the evening on the couch watching “Saturday Night Live” and I didn’t even make it through the entire episode.
It was such a nice day!

Outfit Rating System:
Comfort - Was I too hot or cold? Did it fit me properly? Did I have to adjust any of the items constantly? Style - Did I feel stylish in the outfit? Did it feel like a “me” outfit, or was there something about it that was off? Fun - Did I try something new? Was I really excited about the outfit, or was I bored by the outfit?

I made this “Peony” dress (Agnes & Co.) 2 summers ago and while I love it (it’s probably one of the nicest items I’ve made in terms of finishing), it’s a little loose so I only feel comfortable wearing it with a top underneath and I’ve found my trusty black tank top to be the perfect item!
It was pretty warm out this day but I opted to wear socks because I’m not ready to let them go yet, and I don’t like wearing sneakers without socks. I’ll definitely need to pick up some no-show socks at some point!
I briefly questioned if wearing these socks and sneakers with this dress was childish before I realized how silly that sounded - I like how it looks and that’s all that matters!
I added my tote bag which is probably my favorite bag to wear right now!

I spent this day in leggings and a sweatshirt, since I spent the day cleaning out our storage room. I had been collecting items down there for a while and I needed to get them taken care of this week - as a procrastinator, I love a deadline!
This was the storage room before…
And here it is after…
I got rid of over 400 items from the storage room, plus all of the clothing that the kids and I had decluttered recently! I was even finally able to get rid of the majority of my old textbooks and school/work notes that I’d been holding onto for years. It feels really nice to (finally) have this done!
I’m trying to document all of my decluttering in my “becoming a minimalist” series on Youtube, so if you’re interested, you can watch the video HERE.
