I'd have have said I was a committed black-boot person, but a couple of years ago I got some distressed brown chelsea boots, and I wear them so much more than I would ever have imagined. I think a brown boot can just mellow everything down beautifully. I love how you have styled them here, especially with the patterned silk blouse outfits.
Yes, I think I’m experiencing the same thing right now - I thought a black boot could just handle every outfit but I like the softer vibe that the brown boot gives. And thanks Louise, I feel like I’ve neglected this blouse but the brown boots may be the key to more wears!

I really enjoyed being taken through your decision making in detail. I began reading thinking they were going to be a return for sure. It was good to see the thought processes that made them a keeper. My favourite all time colour combination is black and brown together and has been for many many years. It does not make sense to me that it would not go together as you see it paired everywhere in nature. I think mother nature has colour pairings nailed!
I felt like I spent a few days on a roller coaster with this purchase. I hope that future ones are a little more straightforward 😆 And I love your statement about mother nature nailing color pairings - I find this to be an intriguing idea and I will definitely think about this more!
