I completely admire sewists, and am lucky to have a couple in my friends circle. While I know how to sew on a machine, I am far too scattered to take on large projects like those (I'm a bit of a dabbler). I loved seeing the things you made, Gillian! You're so talented!

Thank you, Sheila! Even of you don't make garments, knowing how to work a machine or repair clothes is such a useful skill!

For that large dark denim, I'd be tempted to make the perfect denim skirt (which I've never found!). Long length - ankle/ shoe skimming for me), a circular or a-line shape, and, of course, lovely pockets bit enough to fit stuff in.

Ooo that's not a bad idea, and it would be a pretty easy project too! Thanks for the suggestion!

This makes me so excited to learn to sew! The items you’ve made are beautiful. I especially love the top with the plaid fabric. I think a matching set would be amazing!

Love to see your complete honesty and once again dedication to photographing/stepping through the entire process. I recently went through and re-organised my fabrics and stored them rolled on a shelf. Now there is now lurching pile and I can see everything! I like to set up our entire dining table for sewing so I'll wait till I have a quiet week and weekend and do some more sewing

Thanks Ellen! It definitely helps my work through the guilt of not using these perfectly good things so that I can focus on the things that I do really enjoy. I love that you've found a storage solution that works for you and that you can see all of your fabrics and a quiet week/weekend dedicated to sewing sounds lovely. Do you have any pattern in particular that you're wanting to make next?

I look forward to seeing the Pomona pants in the check fabric, I love the camille top that you made with it. I look forward to you trying them paired together. My gut holds me back from wearing a matching set but I love it on others.

Haha me too!! I love how a matching set looks but am I confident enough to wear it? 🤔 If not, they'll look good with a solid item in my wardrobe!

I can't wait to see what you do with what you have kept, and that quilt coat was/is just phenomenal. I have a dressing gown I have been making my mother for years now - I must finish it next time my quilter niece comes to stay. I managed to clear out a lot of my 2020 stash by giving it to her, and it's nice to see bits of my old fabric turn up in her beautiful quilts.

Thanks Louise! It feels good to only be left with the fabric that I’m excited about! That sounds like a lovely gift for your mom and how special that your niece can use the fabric from your stash in her beautiful creations!

I wish I loved to sew (not really, I hate it). I DO love seeing someone else do it well. I’m looking forward to seeing what you create.

Thanks Annette! I don’t know that I love the act of sewing, although I don’t hate it. I love being able to make my own clothes though and I think that if I had a good sewing setup, I could enjoy it more!

Thanks so much, Helen! And this makes me so glad to hear as I’ll be bringing them to the animal shelter for some furry little things to snuggle in! Thank you for fostering 🫶🏻
