My ride or die products are mascara and blush. I never wore blush until the past couple of years as I have always had such rosy cheeks but getting older I feel I need a bit more colour up higher on my cheek bones. I had been using a Trinny London one which I really like but recently tried a new to me brand Fluff Cosmetics and I really like it.
I suffer from dry eyes (thanks peri menopause!) and have been struggling with mascara but the most amazing one called okkiyo has recently come on the market which gives me beautiful long lashes that lasts all day and absolutely no irritation. I wear brown mascara which can be hard to find as I find black too intense for me.
I have tried on or off over the years to find an under eye concealer but none have measured up. I am going to give your one a go and see if it is for me.
Yes, I've had a similar experience with needing a little more color in my cheeks! I've never heard of that brand before so will check them out.
I'm glad that you found a good mascara that doesn't irritate your eyes - I keep a bottle of lubricating eye drops close by but luckily, mascara hasn't been an irritant (yet).
And I hope you like the undereye brightener. It definitely doesn't cover them completely but it softens them and it looks more natural imo.
I have now tried the undereye brightener and can report that I like it. Thank you for your recommendation. I only need the tiniest bit and it does soften the dark circles while looking natural. I only wear a sheer BB cream day to day so the coverage is perfect for my natural look. I agree the success is in the pink undertone of the product.
I had used a clinique sheer foundation for years but they discontinued my colour and I really struggled to find an equivalent product to take its place, everything was too heavy and colour selection has always confused me. Everyone was raving about the Trinny London BB cream so I gave it a go and have never stopped since. I also use a tiny amount of the destress serum over the top of the BB cream. I recommend doing a colour consult before purchasing as I got mine pretty way off when choosing alone. The consult, which was free if you buy product, was over zoom and now I have a colour profile and can go to the website and filter so I only see the colours that suit me. I have used their blush and eyeshadows too and like them, I am a fingers in the pot type of girl and find them pretty foolproof. The eye serum is nice but doesn't really cover the dark circles imo. It is the BB cream and destress that is my repeat purchase.
I’m so glad that you found a good replacement for your old foundation - I hate it when companies discontinue products! I’ll have a look into the BB cream and I appreciate you taking the time to share one of your favorites with me - I love hearing about other’s repeat purchases because you know you can trust that!
Thank you for this. I would love to hear about your hair routine...I actually really like the BOOM (original colors) trio which includes buildable blush/lip color and an excellent natural looking highlighter that I have worn almost every day.
This sounds really intriguing! I'll check them out. Thanks for the hair routine suggestion - I'll put something together soon. I just switched to a new shampoo/conditioner so I want to make sure that they work well (i.e. don't dry out my hair).
I love the process of doing makeup, but since having a kid (he’s nearly 7 now!!), I’ve embraced a decidedly no-makeup makeup look, which varies from about 6-10 products. I love undereye brighteners/color correctors too—my fave formula is caliray’s because it’s really thin and lightweight :)
Thank you for sharing, Angela - I'm excited to check them out! And finding out about undereye brighteners was a game-changer for me. Doesn't time go so fast with kids?!? 😭
I use the Merit foundation/concealer stick on any red spots. My eyebrows are microbladed (highly recommend) but I brush some tinted eyebrow gel on the hairs since I think mine are greying. I use mascara too. Right now it’s the Sky High one in a pink tube. I love lipstick. A berry color looks best, but I’ve spent a fortune looking for a red I like. I need to stop.
Thanks for sharing your routine, Annette! I've always wondered about microblading - I'm noticing a few sparse spots in my brows and this sounds like a lower maintenance way to fill them in!

I'm so happy that you like it, Rach! What BB cream do you use?

I will always shill for my favorite blush formula; bonus points that it’s a small, truly independent brand.

It does, but it keeps getting better 🥰
Agree! Mine are teenagers now and as much as I miss the younger versions of them, these are some of my favorite years!
Happy Mother’s Day in advance 😉
Thank you!! Happy Mother's Day to you as well ☺️

I haven’t regretted it for a second!
I just got MOB cream clay blush and I like that it’s cleaner, compared to others. https://mobbeauty.com/products/cream-clay-blush
I've never heard of this brand. Thank you for sharing!
Merit cream blush in Beverly Hills is a really nice option for when you run out of blush.
Thank you for suggestion! I'll check it out.
