Those land's end jeans really have become a workhorse for you, they are perfect. It is interesting that you are considering buying them in natural. I am considering buying a pair of pants I own in another colourway at the moment but is it a mistake to buy the exact same thing with distinctive detailing in another colourway? Will one of them be the favourite and the other forlornly sit unworn? Is it affecting my style negatively having multiples of distinctive items in other colours? I am wrestling with these thoughts and trying to work out if it would be a mistake to buy the exact same style or whether I have just been taking the wardrobe style advice too seriously. Would love to know your thoughts.

I love the point that you make about buying the same item in a different colorway - I hadn't thought about that but it makes so much sense! I won't actually have to find out since I bought a pair of natural colored jeans at a local department store last week (I'll be debuting them in this week's diary)! They have a barrel leg (I'm always late to anything that was trendy) and I'm really enjoying the different shape, which supports your thoughts on having duplicates, I think.

I am so excited to see your new natural barrel jeans! I have some natural coloured jeans that I love but as a wearer of dark colours I feel a bit daunted by them to actually wear them. I am looking forward to gaining courage and inspiration from your outfits.

I have also decided not to purchase the duplicate pants I was considering. I think the thought to buy started because I was feeling like I had no pants I liked during this change of season time. I did a bit of a wardrobe dive yesterday and played around with a few items and decided I really did not need the pants in the other colour and that thought of 'no pants to wear' was completely false. I need to get more creative with transitional weather dressing, I have really been struggling with it this year.

I’m finding them to be a great item for the transitional weather we’re having - it was hot last last week and I was able to wear them which I was so happy about! I think they’ll be a well-worn item this summer!

I love that you shopped your closet instead of buying the duplicate pants! It’s amazing what we discover when we do that 🙌🏻 I also struggle with the transitional weather, every single year! I’m really hoping that adding some light-colored items helps!

I love those checked pants that you made, Gillian, but I get the declutter of them - large prints can be overwhelming, and those have a "pajama" vibe about them. Bummer about the wool pants, but discovering that thigh circumference matters to you is a win!

I really loved the dress worn over the skirt - so COOL. I'm a fan of big skirts sticking out from under dresses/tunics.

Send some of that warm weather my way, please!

Thanks, Sheila! I could never get the feeling of wearing pajamas outside outta my head when I wore them!

I really loved that outfit - I think dresses/skirts are my favorite items to style and I used to wear them a lot but not so much over the past few years. Maybe they'll make a comeback someday ☺️

Well, we just got over about a 2 week stretch of warm weather - it's now perfectly spring outside (10C) so I hope that it left here and that you get a bit of it!

I admit, I have worn actual pajama pants in public, on purpose 😁

Skirts will always be in fashion! Wear them now and crow over being cutting edge when the “cool kids” declare them stylish!💕

We’re stuck with cold, rainy weather here on the west coast, but hopefully it will stave off the water restrictions later in the summer.

So many great outfits, Gillian and such a pity I don’t live closer as I would gladly inherit your checked pants 🤩

I’m in love with that green Liz sweater—my eyes light up every time I see it. Tried to find it online but no luck yet—there is a TON of LC inventory in the secondhand market to wade through!

The other thing of yours that always catches my eye are the silver sneakers! I have silver Birkenstock sandals, and that’s my excuse not to bring in silver sneakers but yours always look cool and remind me how versatile the color is for shoes.

It's such a joy-inducing item - I hope that one turns up for you!

The silver sneakers have definitely been a great addition, and yes, so versatile! They go with everything and instantly make an outfit more interesting. What style of Birkenstock sandals do you have in silver?
