OMG! I never got to answer your poll, Gillian! And I always open even the weirdest containers and YES - I also use the other half of a tube to close it again. I love that I'm not alone with my nerdy approach to using every single drop of a product :)
I wonder if the length of green dress bothers you; the other dresses are a bit longer. If you have any of the fabric/blanket left you could add to it, or use a complementary or contrasting - maybe eyelet lace (like a petticoat!)? - strip/ruffle. Or cut it off, as another suggested!
I believe I have used up my day's allotment of punctuation in this comment.
That’s one of my favorite patterns to make! Have you ever thought about trying it? When I started I had a simple, cheap Brother sewing machine that I sewed on for a few years and most of the patterns I’ve used have been fairly simple (or a very good leaning experience 😅).
If you have any questions or need suggestions, please let me know! I’ve just gotten some fabric (the “swamp” fabric from my sewing daydreams post) and I’ll be making a wrap skirt soon - was hoping to make a matching top but will only be able to do that if I make a regular skirt and forego the wrap 🤔
I love your outfits this week too! I think it is okay to hold on to your green plaid dress. You will either try it a few more times and find you are back in love with it or the day will come and you will be ready to let it go. I like the dress, it gives barefoot in the fields vibe to me. Just a thought I had - would the dress be more wearable cut to low hip/thigh as a peplum style top with jeans or flowy pants?
Yeah, I think it might be more of a fall/spring type dress that I can wear with boots and maybe another layer. I do like the idea of cropping it into a peplum top - I’ll store that at the back of my mind to possible revisit in the future!
Man, that stage where you’ve cut open the tube to finish the dregs is my least favorite—it always seems to take longer than I anticipate, and it’s mildly inconvenient—I do it anyway but I grumble internally the whole time!
Super cool that your daughter is enjoying your old jewelry-making supplies. Looks like fun!
Right?!? I’m always surprised how many days are left in those tubes!
And it’s so fun to see what she comes up with and to teach her how to make stuff - I still have to remember how to use my tools properly but I think we’ll make more things so I’ll have time to figure it all out again!
Hmmm, I’ll give this a try but I think I might prefer this dress more in the fall and spring - it might be too warm for layering over a dress made from a blanket right now 🤔
Awww, that you, Sheila. They are quite sweet and I’m glad they bring you joy!
Hello, I would wear that gorgeous me-made green dress as a dress-up with a seventies vibe. I'd put some knee high boots (maybe navy but black could work) underneath, hair up, hoops, for the fall. A dark blazer over it if you have one. But you are right-- I don't think it works with the brown sandals as summer dress. I do think my idea about the boots is a good one. But sleek boots not chunky. With a pattern like that you want a sleeker vibe below. ( :
Thanks for the suggestion, Lisa! I can totally envision the 70s vibe and agree that this might be more suited for cooler weather with boots and other layers.

We can just call ourselves frugal queens! 😆 I’m always amazed at how much is still in there, like, days and days worth!!
True! So much product still there!!! 😳

😆 I once wore it with a white skirt underneath to get the maxi length, and I did like it better. Thank you for reminding me!
Wow, 6/7 with a perfect score! That's a true achievement.
Haha yes! I’m almost at closet nirvana.
Only slightly envious 😂
I wish I could sew I just love the things you’ve made. I especially love Fridays top it’s gorgeous. Love your pussy cats too! 🐈⬛🥰

Maybe I will try. You’ve inspired me! 😊

Do the denim vest over the plaid dress (which is my favourite thing you wore)!
Your cats are adorable, I love seeing them.💕

It’s made from a blanket!? Okay, skip that, haha! I miss my cat photobombing my pictures…
I also miss your cat photobombing your pictures 🫶🏻
